Alessandro Rivetto * Arneis * 2015

Short and to the point. This is what this wine review is going to be. Nothing fancy or full of technical wine terms. The Alessandro Rivetto Arneis doesn’t require that. It can stand on it’s own and prove to be a fantastic go to white wine.
The best thing about this wine: A great white wine that everyone will love and should try
Available at: Corkscrew Wine and Cheese
By the bottle: 20.99
Pairs well with: salmon, BLT’s, take-out

Province of Taranto * Primitivo del Salento * 2015

After a plane trip, sleeping on the couch for days with a sick kid and a long Memorial Day weekend full of activities I was in desperate need of a chiropractic appointment. So I stopped by for an adjustment today and thought I would swing for a glass of wine at Vino Mas on my way home.

The best thing about this wine: limited edition wine that is unique, full of flavors and you can’t find it everywhere. Available at: Vino Mas
By the glass: $5.00
By the bottle: $18.80
Pairs well with: Grilled meat, pasta and pizza

Il Censo * Catarratto * 2014

The long anticipated kick off to summer known as Memorial Day has come and gone. The weather was perfect.  I spent mine with family and friends eating great food, drinking amazing cocktails and pouring beautiful glasses of wine. Today was back to the grind… the weather was amazing, co-workers were relaxed and full of stories, and it was good to be back in the swing. On the drive home I found myself  listening to different music, I was craving something different for dinner, and I ended up taking a different way home. When I walked in, it even that felt different. With the kids gone, the hubs off to volleyball and the dogs fed and surprisingly quiet, this was my night for something different: uncorking my “orange wine” and grilling up the halibut that I have been wanting instead of the usual taco Tuesday.

Best this about this wine: It’s one of a kind, from the nose to the finish!
Available at Corkscrew Wine and Cheese Blackstone by special request
By the bottle: $35

Mojo * Marche Sangiovese * 2014

mojo wineI’m not really superstitious by nature, but I do believe in good mojo, energy and vibes. I usually know right away if there is good mojo around a space, person, or situation. I definitely felt the good vibes last Tuesday morning when I got the opportunity to taste a few Italian wines.

The best thing about this wine is it’s a great wine at an affordable price
Available at: Corkscrew Wine and Cheese
By the bottle: $16
Pairs well with: red meats, pasta, savory cheeses and of course good vibes

URLO (Scream) * Red Blend * 2013

There is nothing as hard as having cancURLOer force us to say goodbye to a dear friend and mentor in the wine business so early in life. When the time came to celebrate what was possibly her last birthday, I canvased the shelves for a bottle that perhaps represented our friendship and my feelings about what was happening…

The best thing about this wine: that each type of grape was fermented separately then blended.
Available at:  Corkscrew Wine and Cheese
By the bottle:   $15.00
Pairs well with: pasta, spicy food, or my personal favorite: Raspberry Bellavitano cheese!
