It’s hard to believe that there could be snow on the ground in less than 2 months. So today when the weatherman said it was going to be windy and 90+ degrees I leaped at the chance to get my “adulting” done early and head to the patio with a new Chardonnay from Australia I was wanting to try.
The best thing about this wine: crisp, clean and refreshing
Available at: Corkscrew Wine and Cheese

The air was dry and unseasonably warm. My potted plants have seen better days. Somehow they know the season is winding down. I know you are not supposed to wear white after labor day, but I don’t think this applies to drinking white wine.
I will stop at nothing to hold on to the endless summer feeling for as long as I can. With the sun hitting it, it gave off a light green/ pale straw color. My first impressions were nectarine and lemon zest flavors…fruity, yet structured. I had never tried a Chardonnay from Australia and with it being 100% in French oak, I was sure it was going to be a stick of butter. At first you get a hint of creaminess but surprises you with the crisp fruit on the finish. My second go around gave way to dried fruits, apples and melon. I was not disappointed. I poured a bit more and sat back to fully enjoy the moment, knowing that these Indian summer afternoons will soon give way to cold nights in front of the fire.
