I like to move fast. Today, while giving my teacher mentee a tour of the building, my fitbit clocked it as exercise. I found myself apologizing several times for how fast I speak, though she didn’t mind, and was even matching my pace! I moved with a purpose quickly through the rest of my day as well. In fact, I didn’t really stop moving until I poured myself a glass of wine. I took a sip of the Merisi Petite Sarah and realized that this was one part of my day I wouldn’t be able to rush.

My first sip of this gave me a quick message that I might need to change my strategy. I knew that there was a lot to break down in my glass so I wanted to give it some time to open up. True to my nature, I went for the quicker fix: using a wine aerator let me cut my wait time. This wait was worth it, though. The wine opened up nicely.
The inky color here was beautiful, and the flavors of black cherry, plum, and chocolate work together nicely in a long finish. This wine was a bit much for just a late night drink, but I would love it with a steak for a great complement. Keep this one in mind to pair with some steaks on the grill!
