When I first started drinking wine I was working for a high end golf resort as the Membership Director. I frequently had to put together activities for the members, including wine events. Everyone around me drank red so that is all I knew. To this day, I rarely drink white wines. Monday night, I joined my good friend Kate for dinner at her home. She only drinks white wine, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity to try something different. We sat out on her deck, overlooking a different golf course, and I tried a glass at her recommendation: Butternut Chardonnay.
The best thing about this wine: Buttery, full of flavor and great for a hot day.
Available at: HyVee

This wine is very easy to drink whether you like whites or not. Extremely smooth and creamy with a luxe texture. It’s rich and has a lot of depth. Whether you are a sommelier or a casual wine drinker, this wine will be a favorite. On the nose the aromas were peach, hazelnut, and apple with round, creamy notes of fig, butterscotch and sweet oak on the palate.
For this price, you can’t beat it! I will keep this in my wine cooler for another hot sunny day.
